Introduction

Sansthagat Bikas Sanjal is a networking non-governmental organization contributing in the development of local level NGOs in different regions of Nepal. Sansthagat Bikas Sanjal is also called “Sanjal” in short which is a nepali term for network.

Sanjal is the comprehensive enhancement of the project “Federation of Partners in Nepal” which was started in December 2005 with the concept of networking based on the partnership approach among the former United Mission to Nepal (UMN) partners. Within two years the project broadened its boundary leading to the establishment of Sansthagat Bikas Sanjal acquiring its own legal status of a networking NGO.

Sanjal works with 19 local NGOs (former partners of UMN) from far wear to mid west region and eastern region enhancing their performance and capacity. Sanjal has been contributing on the organizational strengthening and stability of its affiliate NGOs. Sanjal is also actively involved in peace building activities and awareness on constitutional rights among the grassroot communities.
